Providing safe water in southern Ethiopia

Our water and sanitation programme in Africa is expanding once again, this time into southern Ethiopia.

Thanks to the fantastic support of those who took part in our Turn on the Tap campaign last year, thousands of people in rural regions of southern Ethiopia will soon have access to clean drinking water.

With funding from Samaritan's Purse UK, Samaritan's Purse workers in Ethiopia will be working with local churches to manage the newly developed water systems. The region already has ample natural springs, which need to be harnessed, creating a gravitational system that will provide local people with water free from life-threatening diseases, often found in rivers and other above-ground water sources.
